Silverdale Preschool and Kindergarten Auckland

we recognise each child as the unique little person they are, with their own strengths and interests.

Tamariki are a bundle of potential, waiting to grow. And each of them is unique in their interests, strengths and experiences. We love Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligence which says that we are all smart, it’s just the way we are smart that differs. The Multiple Intelligence theory recognises eight different kinds of intelligence and that each child is smart in a distinctive way. Your preschooler may be people, nature, word or music savvy. Alternatively, they could be body smart, self smart, maths and logic smart or art smart. We love the diversity of our tamariki! How boring would life be if we were all the same?

WE Encourage Learning Through Questioning, Investigation, and Exploration

Children aged three to five experience a desire for increased independence during these exciting and curious years. They ask many questions about the world around them, develop their own sense of self, and explore their relationships with others.

We know that this age group is naturally curious, full of vigour and going through a growth leap. That’s why we focus on learning about each of our charges. Our child-led environment is a place where our tamariki can explore their own interests in their own way and at their own pace. Our experienced and fun-loving kaiako daily provide a rich variety of play and learning experiences - a day at Brainwaves Preschool is never dull!

Our daily programme and curriculum supports this journey of discovery. We enable children to flourish as critical thinkers and confident learners. We aim to help them develop social and emotional skills and a strong foundation for the primary school years ahead.
